J.T. Miller scored in the third round of the shootout and the New York Rangers extended their road winning streak to six with a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night.
The Rangers won their third straight and improved to 9-1-1 on the road thanks to Miller's nifty move.
Miller weaved through the left circle, slightly dragged his stick and secured the win when he lifted a shot over goalie Jet Reaves' right shoulder.
Vincent Trocheck scored in the second round of the shootout in his third game back from a 14-game absence due to an upper-body injury.
Kiril Marchenko scored Columbus' only goal in the shootout when he kept the game going in the third round by putting a shot over goalie Igor Shesterkin.
Shesterkin made 24 saves along with a sprawling glove save on Adam Fantilli in the second round of the shootout. He also denied Miles Wood on a penalty shot late in the first period and made a diving stop on rookie Dmitri Voronkov with about six minutes left in the third.
Reaves stopped 31 shots and denied Artemi Panarin in the first round before being beaten by Trocheck and Miller.
New York's Mika Zibanejad scored a power-play goal 5:42 into the second period and rookie Voronkov tied it for Columbus during a power play about 10 minutes later.
Zibanejad scored by backhanding his own rebound from the right side of the crease after getting a pass from Panarin, who was above the right circle. Panarin set up Zibanejad's goal after getting a pass from Adam Fox, who intercepted an errant clearing attempt by Columbus defenseman Ivan Provorov.
Voronkov evened things by eluding defenseman Matthew Robertson and backhanding the rebound of Zach Werenski's shot past Shesterkin.
