Spotify, Netflix join forces to bring video podcasts to TV

LOS GATOS, California: Netflix will soon stream Spotify's most popular video podcasts, the two companies said, unveiling a new collaboration that merges the worlds of music, talk, and television as both platforms look to expand audiences and content formats.

The deal will bring a slate of Spotify's top video podcasts, including The Dave Chang Show and The Bill Simmons Podcast, to Netflix starting early 2026. However, Spotify's biggest show, The Joe Rogan Experience, will not be part of the initial lineup.

Neither company disclosed the financial terms of the agreement.

The move marks Netflix's first significant step into the video podcast space, as the streaming giant diversifies beyond scripted shows, films, and reality programming. For Spotify, it represents a new distribution opportunity to reach Netflix's hundreds of millions of global subscribers and increase visibility for its creators.

"As video podcasts continue to grow in popularity, our partnership with Spotify allows us to bring full video versions of these top shows to both Netflix and Spotify audiences," said Lauren Smith, Netflix's vice president of content licensing and programming strategy.

Netflix said the podcasts will debut first in the United States, followed by an international rollout later in 2026. The curated slate will span sports, culture, and true crime, featuring titles such as The Zach Lowe Show, The Rewatchables, The Big Picture, and Serial Killers.

Spotify's head of podcasts, Roman Wasenmüller, said the collaboration "offers more choice to creators and unlocks a completely new distribution opportunity."
