Oklahoma has hired Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy as its new general manager, the university announced on Wednesday.
Nagy, who has run the Senior Bowl since 2018, will lead Oklahoma's roster management and talent acquisition. He also will manage the impact of rules governing name, image and likeness, the transfer portal process, revenue-share allocation, scholarship limits and eligibility requirements, according to the release.
The Sooners are set to enter their fourth season under head coach Brent Venables.
'This is a new era in intercollegiate athletics at one of the greatest college football programs in the country,' Nagy said in a statement. 'The legacy of excellence that precedes my arrival is a testament to the leadership at OU and the university's commitment to execute at a championship level. I am honored to bring my experience and work ethic to this program and am confident that through collaboration and effort, we can achieve excellent results.'
Nagy replaces Curtis Lofton, who stepped down last month.
Nagy interviewed with the New York Jets for their general manager position in December. The team ultimately hired Darren Mougey for the post.
Nagy had been an NFL scout for nearly two decades with Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots and Washington Commanders.
