SARASOTA, Fla. (March 8, 2023) - Mark A. Haskins, who has been actively mediating for more than five years, has joined the distinguished panel of Upchurch Watson White & Max. He brings a reputation for engaging even the most reluctant parties and helping them actively participate in the mediation process to achieve reasonable resolutions.
More than 32 years of civil litigation as both plaintiff and defense counsel in Florida's Southwest Gulf Coast Region also serve as a backdrop for his full-time neutral career. His areas of practice included personal injury, complex medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, premises liability, commercial cases and nursing home negligence. Even while a student at Stetson University College of Law, Mr. Haskins was recognized for trial advocacy, winning the Victor O. Wehle Award, and he was a Stetson Law Review editorial board member.
"We celebrate the arrival of Mark Haskins, a distinguished lawyer and mediator, and are proud to extend our reach into the Southwest Gulf Region through his exclusive service as a mediator," UWWM CEO John Upchurch said. "Our clients will appreciate his patience, perseverance and keen insight in guiding them to successful resolution."
Mr. Haskins' longtime, intensive experience allows him to quickly identify materially relevant issues and understand how cases are evaluated on both sides, regardless of size and complexity.
Having resided in Sarasota County for over 35 years, Mr. Haskins has made service to the community a priority. He has held several top offices in the county's bar association, including those of director and treasurer. He also was board president and director of the Sarasota YMCA. As a mediator, he serves Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, Lee, Collier, Pinellas, and Hillsborough counties in person or by Zoom (elsewhere by Zoom).
