Atlanta, Georgia: The second largest lottery in U.S. history was held July 29, with the winner set to receive a historic $1.28 billion.
However, no one has yet to come forward with a winning ticket. The winning numbers were 67-45-57-36-13.
This is the third time in the history of the American lottery game that a single ticket could be awarded over $1 billion.
After no ticket holder claimed the July 26 drawing, the lottery grew to $1.28 billion by July 29.
The actual cash amount, after taxes, is approximately $648.2 million, said lottery officials.
If won, this lottery will become the second-largest jackpot in U.S. history, following the record $1.537 billion won in South Carolina on Oct. 23, 2018.
This was also the largest jackpot ever won worldwide.
The lottery is part of the nationwide Mega Millions jackpot, drawing on revenues earned from ticket purchased in 45 U.S. states.
There have been 29 Mega Millions jackpot drawings since April 15, with 28.1 million winning tickets at all prize levels. Forty-two winning tickets were worth $1 million or more.
A special Mega Millions jackpot game starts at a $20 million payout and increases based on game sales and interest rates. Officials say the odds of winning the big prize remain 1-in-303 million.
Mega Millions tickets are $2 and can be purchased in 45 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday in Atlanta, Georgia.
Winners have the option of taking their winnings as an immediate cash lump sum or in 30 annual payments over 29 years.
